AP: Siblings Maia and Alex Shibutani launching book series The Shib Sibs are writing Kid Lit. Maia and Alex Shibutani, the sibling ice dancers and Olympic bronze medalists, are collaborating on a middle grade book series, Penguin Young Readers announced Thursday.

The Shibutanis will not compete at the 2022 Olympics. The ice dancing pair stepped away from skating when Maia's tumor was found, and the last competition they participated in was the 2018 Olympics, according to the International Skating Union (ISU).

They are the second sibling duo to ever share an ice dance Olympic medal and the first from the United States.
