There's something about the light texture and airy, crispy crunch of new Lay's Poppables that makes you go "mmm." It could be the bite-sized perfectly popped shape.

Like Baked Lay's before them, Poppables are marketed as a healthier alternative to regular potato chips because they're not deep-fried. Don't be deceived: Poppables are still very much junk food.

Ingredients are fed through a hopper, volumetrically metered and introduced by a feed-slide into a heated mould. The Processor then pressurizes the ingredients for a short period of time. This pressurization allows the ingredient moisture to be converted into steam, resulting in expansion, or popping.

White cheddar cheese is simply cheddar cheese that has not been dyed orange with a natural vegetable dye. There is no difference in taste or texture between white cheddar vs orange cheddar.

Aged white cheddar is a cheese produced through the cheddaring process but has not been dyed orange. To make cheddar cheese, cheesemakers first separate the curds from the whey and then form the curds into large blocks. The blocks are repeatedly stacked and flipped to release more whey and form a denser curd.
