John Jameson became General Manager of the Distillery in 1786 and by 1805 he took full ownership of the Distillery which he then also expanded. In 1810 the name of the Whiskey was changed to that we all know and love today, The John Jameson and Sons Irish Whiskey Company, or Jameson's Irish whiskey for short.

From that moment sine metu (without fear) became the slogan of the Jameson dynasty which inspired John when he founded the distillery in 1770.

Jameson is the most popular Irish whisky globally With such high export rates, it's no surprise that Jameson's a big international brand. However the number of bottles sold annually is mind-boggling - 31 million bottles are sold and 70% of all Irish whisky sales in America belong to Jameson.
