Javier Hernández Balcázar (Spanish: [xaˈβjeɾ eɾˈnandes βalˈkasaɾ]; born 1 June 1988), commonly known by the nickname Chicharito ([tʃitʃaˈɾito], Mexican Spanish: little pea), is a Mexican professional footballer who plays as a striker and captains Major League Soccer club LA Galaxy.

Hernández will miss the remainder of the 2023 campaign after sustaining a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his right knee during the club's 2023 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Quarterfinal match against Real Salt Lake on June 7. He will undergo surgery on a date to be determined to begin the rehabilitation process.

He was born into a family of football players, as his father and grandfather both played for the Mexican national team. Javier's father was nicknamed “Chicharo,” or pea, for his green eyes. This landed Javier with the nickname “Chicharito”, or little pea.

Chicharito is most famous for his spell at Manchester United between 2010 and 2015. He was part of Sir Alex Ferguson's legendary sides which won Premier League titles in 2010/11 and 2012/13.
