Jim Beam Original is a classic Kentucky bourbon that helped define the category. It contains no additives or coloring and is as great to sip on its own as it is to mix into cocktails.

We can't tell you the exact recipe for our bourbon - that's a family secret. But we can tell you that Jim Beam is produced from the fermentation and distillation of corn, rye, and malted barley. We love the bourbon we make, but Beam Suntory does not advise legal-age adults whether or not to drink.

The Recipe - Bourbon is distilled from a fermented mash of grain, yeast and water. The “mash bill” must have a minimum of 51% corn. For most bourbons, the average is about 70%. Other grains such as rye, malted barley and wheat are considered the “flavor” grain.

Jim Beam more or less smells and tastes the same after Jack Daniel's, making it the more rich, fragrant, and flavorful bourbon. Overall, it's way more sweet, fruity, herbal, earthy, and spicy. There's no rubbery ripe banana or vodka either.
